WINTERIM

EXPERIENCE THE WORLD

Winterim at BA is designed to challenge students to expand their knowledge beyond present experiences and to encourage a love of learning. We pair a small group of students to work closely with faculty members in various non-traditional courses held locally and abroad. Winterim provides opportunities to explore academics, arts, outdoors, and enriching experiences through cultural exchanges, community service, and internships. Participation in Winterim is required for all upper school students and often makes for some of their favorite memories.

PROGRAM GOALS

  • To expand the student’s worldview and knowledge through exposure to new ideas, new cultures, and/or new skills.
  • To deepen relationships among students and faculty by working together in small groups.
  • To model a love of learning, developing students into lifelong learners. 
  • To eliminate the misconception that learning only occurs in a classroom. 
  • To reinforce the ideas or concepts taught in the classroom in a real world environment.
  • To glorify God by helping students recognize His presence in all areas of life, growing in wisdom, faith, and character as they appreciate His diverse creation.
