THE ADVISORY PROGRAM

Every student at BA has an assigned advisory group that meets weekly and serves as a space for students to grow individually while building meaningful relationships with peers and faculty. The three main goals of advisory time are group bonding, faith-building, and character development. Advisory groups are a long-standing tradition that are vital to our mission of nurturing and challenging each whole person – body, mind, and spirit – to the glory of God.

In middle school, advisory groups are made up of all-boys or all-girls who are in the same grade. Every year, middle school students will have a new advisory group, allowing them to build relationships with more people in their grade as they move through these foundational years.

Once students move into upper school, their advisory groups are still divided by boys and girls, but are comprised of students from each grade, 9th-12th. Students keep the same advisory group throughout their upper school career. This allows the crucial elements of leadership, discipleship, and mentorship to develop organically among students while giving them an advisor who will support them throughout their upper school experience at BA.

PARENTS, WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY!

BRENTWOOD ACADEMY PARENTS ASSOCIATION

BAPA

The BA Parents Association (BAPA) furthers the mission of Brentwood Academy by supporting academic and community-building programs through volunteerism and community events. We encourage parents to get involved in the life of the school with volunteer opportunities offered throughout the year.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Brentwood Academy Parents Association (BAPA) exists to partner with BA to intentionally help fulfill the mission and ministry of Brentwood Academy by investing in students, supporting faculty/staff, and building community.

Upon enrolling students at BA, parents automatically become members of the Brentwood Academy Parents Association (BAPA). Parents are encouraged to get involved in the life of the school with multiple events, volunteer opportunities, and community gatherings throughout the year.

Within BAPA, there is an advisory board that is composed of 22 parent volunteer members who accept a three-year term to oversee assigned BAPA activities.

BAPA also assigns two Grade Level Parents (GLP’s) for 6th-11th grade and 6 GLP’s for 12th grade to help oversee the grade level activities and coordinate volunteers.

Below are some of the contributions of BAPA throughout the year:

  • Investing in students by sponsoring events including school spirit activities, activity period “BAPA Breaks,” homecoming dinners, and grade-level trips.

  • Supporting faculty/staff through hosting teacher treats and breakfasts, faculty/staff appreciation week, and raising funds for school improvements.

  • Building community through family programs including parent socials, tailgates, Mom's Bible Studies, BA Dads, and community outreach events.

A LETTER FROM THE BAPA PRESIDENT

"We are blessed at BA to have an amazing community of parents who desire to partner with the mission and vision of Brentwood Academy. As the parent of a current BA middle school and upper school student, and a BA alumna, I am honored to serve as the president of the BAPA board for the 2025-26 school year.

I am excited about all the ways God will lead us during the school year and encouraged by the wonderful support of the BA parent community. My prayer is that as parents, we will always seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus, lifting up and supporting our students, faculty/staff, and always seeking to build up our community in a positive way."

"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another." - 1 Peter 4:10
