2013-2014 Service Project—Preston Taylor Ministries
Each summer before school begins, the senior class goes on a retreat and chooses the theme verse and service project for the upcoming year. The chosen service project is presented to the entire school at the back-to-school picnic and all fundraising efforts for the upcoming year go toward the organization. Throughout the school year, students and faculty participate in activities and events to help foster awareness and raise funds. At the end of each year, the seniors present a check to the organization on behalf of Brentwood Academy.
Preston Taylor Ministries (PTM) glorifies Christ Jesus by empowering Preston Taylor children to discover and live their God-inspired dreams through Christian friendships and love for learning.
PTM was founded in 1998 to confront many of the problems present in the Preston Taylor public housing area, problems like drug use, gang involvement, teenage pregnancy, illiteracy, poor school performance and crime. In order to provide hope for children and families living in this environment, PTM sponsors several avenues for building life-changing relationships. At PTM it’s about relationships.
Some PTM students, volunteers, and staff share their dreams. PTM recognizes that we serve a God who inspires dreams and equips us to live out those dreams.
