RECAP of SEMI-FINALS
The Brentwood Academy Lady Eagles basketball team pressed the Briarcrest Saints shooters so hard they could barely get off a shot in the first half of the semi-final game, played Thursday morning at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena. At the other end of the court, the Eagles executed well, leaving a big gap in the score at halftime. Maren Kreid (9 points/4 rebounds) hit a 3-point buzzer-beater at the end of the third quarter, which made the BA crowd go wild, and put a dagger in the heart of the Saints, who have amassed an impressive 27-1 record this season. Hailey Pierson dominated the boards with the most rebounds of any player on the court (15), and scored 14 points. Jai Murphy played an outstanding game, scoring a total of 14 points, 12 of them 3-pointers. Freshman Breuna Jackson scored 6 points and had 6 rebounds. India Hall had 4 points and 7 rebounds. Anna Stephens scored 4 points. Tyra Avery had 6 rebounds and took one charge.
